Cory Benjamin and all that jazz at Hadassah
The Rishona-Chaverot group of Hadassah will hold its first meeting of the 2011-2012 season on Tuesday, Sept. 13. 2011, at the new home of Congregation Ohev Shalom, 613 Concourse Parkway South, Maitland. The program will feature a musical program by Cory Benjamin.
Benjamin, a Los Angeles-based singer, is originally from Central Florida. He focuses on classic jazz standards that have survived the test of time and continue to be relevant in today’s musical environment. Striving for fresh interpretations of his material, he brings all of his life experience, and a touch of contemporary vocal style, into his work.
Hadassah members say, “Cory Benjamin’s appearance will be an auspicious beginning to the New Year’s meetings, which will include a variety of topics designed to appeal to all of our members.”
Upcoming presenters include Laura Lang of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, who will provide guidelines for self-protection, and travel expert Valerie Peters, who will provide tips for conquering the task of packing for your next trip. December features Hadassah’s always-popular holiday musical program. Non-members are welcome to attend the meetings.
To RSVP, call Bunny Rosen at 407-331-8367 at least one week before the meeting. The fee for attendance is $8.50, which includes lunch.
