The Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando has announced that the honoree for its annual J Ball event will be community philanthropist Bruce Gould.
Gould will be recognized for his philanthropic accomplishments and his ongoing engagement in helping to make a difference locally and abroad -particularly in Orlando, New York and Israel.
This year's J Ball will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando. This event will be uniquely special as it commemorates the tenth anniversary of the Bruce Gould Poker Invitational-an event that will be combined with the J Ball to add to the evening's excitement.
"We are thrilled to be honoring Bruce at this year's J Ball," said David Wayne, executive director. "Not only has he personally been very supportive of our JCC over the years, but he has inspired others to support our mission as well."
In addition to the poker tournament, the fun-filled evening will include fabulous food, amazing auctions, extraordinary entertainment and more. Proceeds from the J Ball will support the JCC's vital programs and services and the Marvin Friedman Scholarship Fund, which provides nearly $200,000 in financial assistance for membership and program attendance to families, individuals and seniors in need, regardless of race or religion.
Those interested in supporting the J Ball, through volunteer, donating, or providing an auction item should contact David Wayne, executive director, at 407-621-4042 or davidw@orlandojcc.org. Sponsorship and underwriting opportunities are also available. Tickets on sale now at http://www.orlandojcc.org.
