Obituary - HARVEY LEIGHTON BLOOM

Harvey L. Bloom of Windermere, Fla., died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was 86 years old.

A native of Brookline, Mass., he was born Sept. 20, 1926, to the late Henry and Sylvia Rich Bloom. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Navy, serving on several different ships. Following his discharge in 1946, he graduated from Boston University. A leather broker, Mr. Bloom did business all over the world, serving the needs of many different clients. On Aug. 18, 1988, in Gardner, Mass., he married the former Teresa Schulte, his wife of nearly 25 years who survives him. They relocated to the Orlando area in 1998.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bloom is survived by his sons, Bradley (Terrie) Bloom of Boston, Paul (Laurie) Bloom of Boston, and Ken (Lisa) Bloom of Chicago; his daughter, Arielle Bloom, of the home. He is also survived by his sisters, June Solomon of Orlando and Carole (Howard) Levene of Orlando; and his aunt, Mildred Rich of Framingham, Mass.

Funeral services with full military honors were held at Temple Israel “Yank” Frank Pavilion. Interment followed at Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery with Rabbi Hillel Skolnik officiating.
