Bat Mitzvah - ALANA REESE HALPERIN

Alana Reese Halperin, daughter of Cindy and Scott Halperin of Longwood, Fla., will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Congregation Beth Am in Longwood.

Alana is an A-honor roll student in the gifted program at Teague Middle School in Altamonte Springs, where she was selected as a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She participated in Odyssey of the Mind, a creative problem solving competition, and is also involved in Upstanders, a club that promotes anti-bullying, at Teague. She plays the clarinet with the band at school, and has appeared with them in concerts.

Alana, who had been growing her hair for a long time, will donate 10 inches to Locks For Love.

Alana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on vacation, shopping, watching movies and listening to music. She also likes using the computer, and, of course, texting.

Sharing in the family’s simcha will be her sisters, Samara and Jadyn; her grandparents, Naida Rotter of Delray Beach, Ruth Halperin of Boca Raton, and Sharon and Paul Hoffspiegel of Highland Beach.
