Obituary - CARL LEPON

Carl J. Lepon, of Longwood, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was 88 years old.

Mr. Lepon was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 7, 1925 to the late Joseph and Gussie Schultz Lepon. He attended local area schools and joined the Army Air Force after graduation. Following his service in World War II, he returned to Cleveland, attended college for a time and began his career in the family’s retail furniture business. On May 11, 1952, in Cleveland, he married the former Patricia Sperber, his wife of over 59 years when she passed away in November 2011.

In 1992, Carl and Patricia relocated from Avon Park, Ohio to the Orlando area and became members of Congregation Ohev Shalom.

Mr. Lepon is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Lepon of McLean, Va. and Rabbi Elimelech Randy (Shoshanah) Lepon of Ramat Bet Shemish, Israel. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Bernes; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi David Kay officiating. The family requests contributions in memory of Carl J. Lepon to Magen David Adom, 2420 Beman Court, Winter Park FL 32789.
