Jewish Family Services Orlando, a Winter Park based nonprofit human service agency that provides social programs to those in need from all faiths, will celebrate its 35th anniversary at its 12th Annual Evening of Valor on Nov. 3, from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Evening of Valor is JFS’ main fundraiser and will honor past agency presidents, former George Wolly Community Leadership Award recipients and Spring Fiesta honorees. Among those being recognized are
George Wolly, the first JFS executive director and the namesake for the Leadership Award. Wolly and all of the honorees have been instrumental in establishing the existing building and programs.
“We are thrilled to honor those who have supported our organization and the community for as long as we can remember,” said Eric Geboff, executive director of JFS Orlando. “Their outstanding approach to giving deserves to be showcased as we embrace this year’s theme, ‘A Past to Cherish and A Future to Fulfill.’ We look forward to honoring these gracious contributors next month.”
This year’s Evening of Valor will be held at the Westin Lake Mary. Tickets are $175 per person and include a three-course meal, plus access to an extravagant silent auction and raffles such as the popular Dining Around Town initiative. Guests have the chance to win $100 gift cards to 13 upscale local restaurants. Past events have raised nearly $250,000 for the organization’s essential programs and services.
Each year, more than 20,000 individuals are positively impacted by one or more of the three major services JFS provides: emergency services, counseling and community outreach programs.
