JFS Orlando thanks its partners

Jewish Family Services Orlando, the Winter Park-based nonprofit, human service agency, is extending its heartfelt thanks to community partners who raised $5337 in cash and donated 4000 lbs. of nonperishable food for the annual High Holiday 2013 food drive.

The food drive occurred during the High Holy days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur beginning Sept. 4 and ending Sept. 14, and were contributed by 11 temples and organizations: Congregation Ohev Shalom, Jewish Community Center, Congregation of Reform Judaism, Congregation Beth Am, Congregation Ahavas Yisrael, Beit Hamidrash, Jewish Academy of Orlando, Temple Israel, SOJC, Congregation Beit Chaim, and Congregation Shir Shalom.

“We are grateful to those in our network who gave generously to support the food drive,” said Eric Geboff, executive director of JFS Orlando. “In 2012 we provided 80,000 healthy meals to hungry Central Floridians. With this year’s donations we hope to serve more.”

JFS Orlando honored its community supporters during its 12th annual Evening of Valor celebration on Nov. 3. This year marks JFS Orlando’s 35th anniversary of providing social services to struggling children and families in Central Florida.
