These will be the sounds you'll be hearing at the Roth Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando's 10th annual "Maj Madness" mah jongg tournament to be held Sunday, Dec. 8.
The festivities will begin at 9:15 a.m. with registration and coffee, and games will begin at 10 a.m. The tournament format will include four rounds following the National Mah Jongg League Official Rules of Play.
Open to people of all playing levels, Maj Madness is $35 per person ($25 for JCC members) and includes lunch, drinks, door prizes, and awards.
Co-chairwomen Julie Levitt and Dale Perreault anticipate a great turnout. "We are excited to offer a fun event in a relaxing atmosphere," Levitt said. "We want it to be multi-generational and an opportunity for people to socialize with friends."
"We're thrilled that this is now the 10th annual Maj Madness and that the event has become such a mainstay of our community," said Perreault.
The registration deadline is Dec. 2, and after that there will be a waiting list formed. For more information, please call Julie at 407-492-9890 or Dale at 407-808-9660. Registrations are accepted at the JCC, by calling 407-621-4031.
