Jewish National Fund (JNF) will host A Taste of Israel Cooking Demonstration and Brunch as the second event in their 2014 Women for Israel Campaign year on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. at a private home in Orlando.
The event will feature guest speaker and chef Talia Tzour, JNF-KKL’s director of Major Donors. Tzour came to JNF in 2005 as the Israeli emissary to New York and New Jersey after 15 years with JNF-KKL offices in Israel. Born and raised in Jerusalem, Tzour spent her army years as a member of the Nachal Brigade and during the course of her service helped found a new community in the Galil, one that still stands today. Tzour served as a shlicha- emissary in the U.S. from 2005-2012 and travelled across the country representing JNF and its important work in Israel and managed to develop and strengthen its circle of supporters. She recently completed a chef’s course in Israel at Bishulim, the top culinary institute in Israel, and is looking forward to sharing her newly learned skills with JNF supporters.
“JNF’s Women for Israel provides interesting Israel-centered programs for the women of Central Florida,” said Deborah Meitin, JNF Orlando board member and Women for Israel Regional chairwoman. “We’ve been in existence for about five years and programs like this and November’s A Night at the Museum event at Rollin’s College provide an opportunity to meet new and old friends and learn about JNF’s important work in Israel.”
“I am so pleased to be an active participant in JNF activities in Orlando,” said Es Cohen, a new supporter of the campaign. “Having seen some of what JNF does in Israel makes me want to spread the word throughout our community. I became involved with Women for Israel for two main reasons— to learn more about the various projects JNF is involved with and the opportunity to meet new friends. Both have been rewarding!”
