Jerry Wasserman of Orlando, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at The Bridge Assisted Living in Orlando. He was 87 years old. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Wasserman was born on May 18, 1926, to the late Louis Wasserman and Anna Soloman Wasserman. He attended Case Western Reserve University and served in the United States Army. He spent the majority of his working career as a sales consultant for Doubleday Books.
Jerry and his wife, the late Gloria Wasserman, relocated to the Orlando area from Columbus, Ohio, in 1994.
Mr. Wasserman is survived by his son, Brian (Lynn) of Orlando; daughter Shelbie (Jeff) Oppenheimer of Philadelphia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wasserman was predeceased by his brother, Max, and sister, Dorothy.
Graveside funeral services were held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. The family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1601 W Colonial Dr, Orlando 32804. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, Orlando.
