Michael Levine of Oviedo, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the Oviedo Hospital emergency room. He was 63 years of age. Mr. Levine was born on Aug. 10, 1950, in New York, N.Y., to the late Philip and Phyllis Pressman Levine. He was a graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy and attended Sullivan County, N.Y., Junior College and was a captain in the Army Reserves.
On May 22, 1976, in Silver Spring, Md., Mr. Levine married the former Harriet Newman and in 1981 the couple relocated to the Orlando area.
In addition to being a consultant in the restaurant industry, he was the food services auditor for the Orange County Corrections Department and later the Seminole County Corrections Department. He was a past president of the Florida Restaurant Association and on the advisory board at Valencia Community College.
Mr. Levine is survived by his wife, Harriet; and his sister, Karen (Allen) Saperstein of New York. Funeral services were held at the Pavilion at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. The family requests contributions in memory of Michael J. Levine to a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, Orlando.
