Amy Ames, age 42, of Lake Mary, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. She was 42 years old. Mrs. Ames was born in Staten Island, N.Y., on Aug. 7, 1971, to Leonard D. Furman and Yvette Tosk Furman Katz. Following high school, Mrs. Ames attended the University of Delaware where she earned a degree in business administration. In 1991, she relocated to the Central Florida area where she owned and operated an event planning business.
Mrs. Ames is survived by her son, Jacob; her father, Leonard (Ellen Lewis) Furman of New Jersey; her mother, Yvette (Saul) Katz of New York; and her brother, Scott (Susan) Furman of California.
Funeral services were held at the “Yank” Frank Pavilion with Cantor Jacqueline Rawiszer of Congregation of Reform Judaism and Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating. Burial followed in the CRJ Cemetery. The family requests donations in memory of Amy Ames to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Hospice of the Comforter or the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando.
