JNF events with Tal Brody

ORLANDO—Jewish National Fund (JNF) will host a series of events in May with goodwill ambassador for Israel and basketball legend Tal Brody.

A University of Illinois All American in 1965 and member of the ZBT fraternity, Brody led his U.S. team to a gold medal in the ’65 Maccabiah Games. He then led his 1977 Maccabi team to the European Cup Championship, winning the tournament. In 1979, Brody was awarded the Israel Prize, the country’s highest civilian honor. In Israel, he is a revered national hero, icon, and legend; a superstar akin to Michael Jordan in the U.S. As Israel’s first modern-day sports hero, he is a symbol of the young country’s achievements.

The first event will be “Bagels and Basketball,” a breakfast event featuring Brody on Thursday, May 15, at 8 a.m. Brody will address JNF’s Lawyers for Israel Society members and other Orlando lawyers at the Alfond Inn, located at 300 East New England Avenue in Winter Park.

“Our Orlando Lawyers for Israel division is excited to welcome Tal Brody,” said Ed Milgrim, event chair. “As Jill Riola and I work to grow Lawyers for Israel in Orlando, we hope that this will be the first of many events that bring together our fellow lawyers in support of Israel.”

Brody will also be a part of “Beer and Basketball: A JNF Guys’ Night Out,” which will take place at a private home in Orlando on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. A sampling of craft beers and appetizers will be served. The location will be given with RSVP.

RSVP for both events by contacting the JNF office at RSVPNorthFL@jnf.org or 561.447.9733 by May 12.
