The Kinneret Council on Aging and its board of directors officially dedicated their kitchen, “Nanny and Papa’s Kitchen,” in honor of Dick and Dottie Appelbaum. The dedication took place in the Delaney Dining Room, located at Kinneret Apartments on Wednesday, April 23. The event was attended by the Kinneret Council on Aging Board of Directors; Olga Korish, executive director of Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando; Emilie Socash, executive director of TOP; Kinneret residents, and friends of the Appelbaums.
Neal Blaher, president of Kinneret’s board of directors, started the morning with a welcome and introduction of board members. Craig Pearlman, representing TOP, gave the Dvar Torah. Alison Appelbaum Polejes, current Kinneret board member and past president of Kinneret introduced her parents. Dick Appelbaum did the honors of unveiling the sign and Rhonda Pearlman led the assembled crowd in a champagne toast followed by a light brunch.
