Congregation Sinai prepares for the High Holidays

For over 10 years Congregation Sinai, a full-service progressive congregation, which considers itself “a little bit Conservative and a little bit Reform,” has been holding services, social events, adult education classes, Torah study, and youth education classes leading to bar and bat mizvah ceremonies. The Mens Club and Sisterhood are very active arms of the synagogue life. Beside the weekly Torah study every Saturday, they will continue the Adult Educaiton program on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Currently, they are studying the First Book of Samuel.

Spiritual leaders Joe and Lynn Goldovitz conduct services, teach Hebrew School and lead the adult education classes. They embellish services with their songs, accompanied by their guitars. They do this at regular services, healing services and the monthly Rock Shabbat service.

Congregation Sinai will have a scribe, Rabbi Bialo from Sofer on Site, to examine their Torah scrolls before the High Holidays arrive.

Congregation Sinai, located in Minneola, welcomes new members, whether snowbirds or year rounders. For more information about the congregation, visit http://www.congregation-sinai.org or call 352-243-5353.
