Obituary - DR. KENNETH LESLIE LIPSITT

Kenneth L. Lipsitt, MD, of Orlando, passed away at his residence on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014. He was 68 years old. Dr, Lipsitt, a native of Michigan, was born on Nov. 19, 1945, to the late Dr. Seymour and Gertrude Jacobs Lipsitt. Dr. Lipsitt had a practice in Altamonte Springs.

He did his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and Wayne State University earning a bachelor’s degree in history with distinction. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Lipsitt attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and received his medical degree. He spent the next year as a rotating intern and then furthered his medical training spending the next four years as an EyeMD ophthalmology resident studying general ophthalmology at Tufts University Affiliated Hospitals and simultaneously took additional training at Harvard University. He then took additional training taking two vitreoretinal fellowships at both Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Emory University School of Medicine and another at the Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Dr. Lipsitt was a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. After additional training he specialized in EyeMD Low Vision Rehabilitation. Dr. Lipsitt is survived by his sister, Carol Lipsitt of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
