Paula Fitzer of Longwood passed away Dec. 26, 2014, at Florida Living Nursing Center in Apopka. She was 93 years old.
Mrs. Fitzer was born on Nov. 16, 1921, in Manitowoc, Wis., to the late Julius and Dora Graff. After graduating from high school in Manitowoc, she attended the University of Wisconsin and married the late Joseph Etzkin on June 22, 1942. She was active in the Milwaukee B’nai B’rith, and worked as a bookkeeper for several firms in her lifetime, including American Greetings in Cleveland, where she and her husband moved in 1963. They were married for 42 years.
In 1995 she moved to Longwood and married David Fitzer, a retired New York educator, on June 4, 2000. The two of them loved to take cruises, sailing on more than 40 voyages throughout the Caribbean.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fitzer is survived by her sons, Steven (Patti) Etzkin of Altamonte Springs, Allan (Joanne) Etzkin of Longwood and Michael (Loraine) Etzkin of Longwood; her stepson Gilbert Fitzer of California, stepdaughter Rachel (Arnold) Heller of New York; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home In Whitefish Bay, Wis., with Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer of Temple Menorah in Milwaukee officiating, followed by burial at Second Home Cemetery in Milwaukee.
