Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
Howard Lefkowitz visited Cuba in 2006 and his journal about the trip (Travels to Cuba in 2006) gave readers a vision of what the Cuban Jewish community was like back then. Now a licensed religious trip supporting Jewish Cuba is being planned, conducted under a general license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control by Congregation of Reform Judaism.
“This is the first-ever Cuba mission trip that is open to the entire Jewish community and we are excited to be working with Congregation of Reform Judaism on this project during this historic time as relations between Cuba and the U.S. begin to change,” said Jason Reis of Cultural Contrast Cuba Travel Consultants.
The 5-days, 4-nights trip will take place May 14-18, and includes round trip airfare via a chartered commercial airline from Miami to Havana and returning to Miami; hotel accommodations in Cuba; most meals; in-country transportation; all licenses and visas; English-speaking guide and more.
“Traveling to Cuba with Cultural Contrast was quite an amazing experience. Our trip was well-organized and provided a meaningful exchange with the people of the neighboring island nation,” said Lawrence Kolin, past executive board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando.
Space is limited for this trip and registration deadline is Feb. 15, 2015. For itinerary information and registration, visit http://www.culturalcontrast.org or call 888-978-5215.
