Jewish Academy students sing national anthem

On Saturday, Jan. 24, 33 students from the Jewish Academy of Orlando sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to the start of the Orlando Solar Bears hockey game. This is the second year in a row that the students have participated in this honor, and it was a great thrill for the students to walk on the ice and perform beautifully before close to 10,000 cheering fans.

All students have the opportunity to participate in the Jewish Academy chorus, which is one of many after-school activities offered at the school. Ably led by Eric Levine, the Jewish Academy chorus performs and sings in many community events and programs throughout the community.

Performing at the Solar Bears hockey game is one of the highlights for the students. More than 180 family members and friends were in the audience to cheer on the students as well as the Solar Bears, who won 3-2 in an exciting overtime game. The event was a wonderful way for our students to build their confidence and show their school spirit.
