Lecture series—The Interfaith Council of Central Florida presents a series of lectures on various religious beliefs the first and third Friday of the month, from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at Brookdale Retirement Community. No charge.

SUNDAY, MAY 17

J.O.IN. Orlando—Hosts an interactive discussion titled: The Joy of Jewish Holidays” at 8 a.m. Shacharis at Orlando Torah Center, 8591 Banyan Blvd., Orlando. Breakfast included.

Temple Israel—Adult education committee presents “Jews in American History: The European Wave,” a lecture by Murray Toborowsky. Refreshments served 4 p.m.-4:30 p.m. and lecture is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Open to the community and is free of charge.

JFS Orlando—Spring Brunch honoring Madeline Wolly with the George Wolly Community Leadership Award at Heathrow Country Club, 1200 Bridgewater Dr., Heathrow. 11 a.m. Tickets: $175

Zionistas—Host guest speaker Pastor Blake Lorenz of Encounter Church, a strong supporter of Israel. Program begins at 2 p.m., 6208 S. Orange Ave., Suite 108. Free and open to the public.

MONDAY, MAY 18

Dinner, Daber and Dvar—Congregation Ohev Shalom offers a Jewish educational opportunity for eighth-12th graders, regardless of synagogue membership. Beginning at 5:45 p.m., enjoy pizza and conversational Hebrew. At 7 p.m. partake in “The Amazing History of the Jews,” which traces Jewish history from creation to present day.
