In its final month, the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando’s annual campaign is only $41,000 from reaching $1 million. It is a milestone they have not achieved since 2007.
“This is an amazing accomplishment that has been made possible by the generosity of our supporters and the hard work of our volunteers. To all who have given your financial support and your time during this annual campaign, please accept my sincere gratitude on behalf of Federation,” said JFGO Executive Director Olga Yorish.
“If the positive trend we are now experiencing continues, Federation will be able to once again expand its reach to the Jewish community and allocate more funds to our constituent agencies.”
With less than a month left to raise $41,000, Yorish made a personal appeal to all who have not yet contributed and shared a few ideas for making contributions have more impact:
• Make a gift in tribute: This is a very meaningful way to honor a living relative, friend, colleague or mensch. Celebrate a loved one’s birthday, anniversary, wedding or retirement with a gift to Federation in his or her honor. The Federation will send a card and personal letter to the honoree to let him or her know about your special gift.
• Make a memorial gift: Pay tribute to the memory of loved ones. Celebrate their lives while helping to improve the lives of Jews in our community and around the world.
• Double donation: Many employers will match gifts to Federation, dollar for dollar. Some give even more. Please check with your company to see if this option is available to you. It’s an easy way to make your donation have a greater impact at no additional cost to you.
