Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center is again partnering with the Interfaith Council of Central Florida with a new adult education series “Understanding Our Tapestry of Faiths.”
Meetings will be held on four Wednesdays: July 15, 22, 29 and Aug. 5, and each session will run from 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Each session will feature representatives of two faith communities
. Each speaker will have 20 minutes to present, and 45 minutes will be devoted to questions and discussion
. The series will be structured to encourage open discussion. Speakers will be asked to address three central questions:
• In what ways is this religion similar to and different from other faiths?
• What are the most misunderstood things of your faith group’s traditions and beliefs?
• What are your forms or ways of prayer, if they exist?
Cost for attending will be $15, which will cover the cost of the book “How to be a Perfect Stranger,” which will be pre-ordered for participants.
Preregistration is required, and attendees are encouraged to begin reading the book before the first presentation. The registration form can be mailed to the Holocaust Center, emailed to Susan Mitchell or hand-delivered to the Center.
