It is with deep, and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Jeffrey Robert Cohen, who passed away on July 15, 2015, in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Cohen was born in New York in 1953 to Edwin and Marilyn (Danzig) Cohen and was joined by his siblings, Debra and Jonathan Cohen. After obtaining his JD at Boston University, he settled in Boston and made a life there with his three children, Allison Margolies, Lindsay Nakash and Alexander Cohen.
Cancer came into the Cohen family’s lives in the mid 1980s and Mr. Cohen had spent the majority of his life raising funds and awareness for Dana Farber’s Jimmy Fund through the PanMass Challenge.
Life and his legal career opportunities lead Mr. Cohen to Orlando, Florida, where he married his life-long love, Theresa Costigan, of Milton, Massachusetts, and together welcomed their sons Thomas and William. Mr. Cohen is also survived by numerous extended family members and dear friends.
A memorial service was held honoring Mr. Cohen’s life at Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel on Sunday, July 19, with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. Donations can be made in his name to The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849169, Boston, Mass., 02284 or http://www.jimmyfund.org/gifts
