Temple Israel offers Passport to Hebrew

Each summer, for three days, Temple Israel, located at 50 S. Moss Road, Winter Springs, offers students of all ages and their families an opportunity to have fun and brush up on their Hebrew. This year they will be conducting an archeological excavation where participants will dig up relics and artifacts from three different civilizations that help the children to understand their lifestyles and culture.

Participants will uncover treasures from the Dead Sea sect known as the Essenes, from the Roman civilization during this same time period, and Orlando history in the early 1970s. And of course, Hebrew terms will be introduced while exploring the past.

Passport to Hebrew will meet Wednesday through Friday; Aug. 5, 6, and 7 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (includes dinner). One session is $10/student; two sessions - $15/student; or three sessions - $20/student.

The program is open to all and families are welcome to participate together. For more information contact Susan Bernstein at 407-647-3055 or kehillaclc@tiflorida.org
