Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
Joseph Gliksman, 68, of Deltona, passed away at his home on Monday, July 27, 2015. Born in Lodz, Poland to Holocaust survivors, Abraham and Sabina Gliksman, the family emigrated to North America in 1957 when he was 10; landed in Montreal, then moved to the Bronx, then Brooklyn, Borough Park.
After marrying Ellen on April 16, 1966, they lived in Brooklyn, then moved to Far Rockaway, enjoying life on the beach. It was a 2-and-a-half-hour commute to Manhattan. Joe and Ellen opened their own printing company in New York in 1981. After 18 years, they relocated Elegant Printing to Central Florida. The Longwood based Elegant Printing, a full service printer with affordable pricing, has been a supporter of the Jewish community since they moved to Central Florida in 1999.
Joe was a printer by profession, who loved to commune with nature and growing things. If there was an empty space, he put a tree in it. He was also a skilled photographer and photographed many events in the Jewish community for the Heritage Florida Jewish News.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, Joe is survived by his children, David (Beth), Kahlil, Joshua (Felicia), and Shoshanah (Dave) Ginipro; and seven grandchildren, Ezra, Seth, Zoey, Amanda, Jacob, Ethan and Isabella.
Funeral services were held in New York.
