Orlando Chapter of Hadassah opens its 2015 - 2016 season

The summer is coming to an end and The Orlando Chapter of Hadassah is gearing up for a sensational new season of exciting programs.

Orlando Hadassah kicks-off its 2015-2016 year on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 with a musical performance by the Michael Kramer Trio, featuring Mr. Kramer on piano, Pete Portee on bass and Paul Scavarda on guitar.

Michael Kramer has lived in Central Florida for 28 years. He has been an accompanist and arranger for many talented performers, including Michael Andrew, Frank Wess, Jacqueline Jones, Ira Sullivan, Rick Fay, and Linda Cole. He worked for five years at the erstwhile Peter Scott’s Restaurant in Longwood.

Michael can be heard on the CD, “Michael Andrew Pays Tribute to Frank Sinatra,” where he recorded several tracks with Michael Andrew in Los Angeles at Capitol Studios.

Michael Kramer was named Seminole County’s Artist of the Year 2010 by the Seminole Cultural Arts Council

Events planned throughout the year include a Book and Author with noted author Kristen Harmel in November, and a Chanukah musical program with Orlando’s favorite entertainer, Carol Stein.

Hadassah will once again feature Marj Smith, a certified EMT trainer with Seminole County with a CPR update as part of Hadassah’s life-saving Women’s Heart Health Program. Laura Lang from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be back to keep people safe on the Internet, both home and away.

The Bunny Rosen Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016. The occasion promises to be fabulous. Last year’s experience at the Alfond Inn in Winter park proved to be so delightful that we are returning again this year for another glorious afternoon of excellent food, outstanding service and stunning fashions presented by Chico’s Winter Park.

These are just a few of the programs coming your way this season and they are designed to interest you, entertain you, and inform you.

The Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 event is open to the public, and will take place at Congregation Ohev Shalom at 11:30 a.m. with a buffet lunch being served before the concert.

RSVP to Nancy Greenfield at Nancyg357@yahoo.com or 407-333-0204. Couvert $12 payable at the door.
