Myrna Lighterman, age 85, of Sanford, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015. A native of New York City, she was born on May 11, 1930, to the late Harold and Eve Merzon Winniman. A high school graduate, she was self-taught and started the first computer consulting firm in the State of Florida in the 1970s.
Mrs. Lighterman and her family relocated to South Florida from New York in 1960 and in 2002, she settled in Central Florida.
She is survived by her children, Mark Lighterman of Sanford and Sandy Lighterman of Plantation; and two grandchildren, Zack and Adam. She was predeceased by her husband, Irwin, in 1989, and her brother Howard Winniman.
A graveside service was held at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Flushing, New York. The family requests donations in memory of Myrna Lighterman to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando 32810.
