The Jewish Academy of Orlando is announcing a new series of events open to the public, focusing on modern days issues of Jewish day school. These Wine & Shine Mingles will highlight topics including how a Jewish day school develops and advances its curriculum, how parents can become an integral part of their children’s Jewish education, and how the community can help develop the values of Tzedakah (Righteousness) and Tikkun Olam (Repairing our World) within our children.
“The 2015-2016 school year is off to an exciting start at the Jewish Academy of Orlando. said Head of School, Alan Rusonik. “It’s a new year, a new beginning. We have created many new programs and curricula to start the new year. The teachers, the administration and the board of directors are invigorated by our new innovations and programs.”
The Mingles will be hosted by our school families. The first Mingle will be held on Sept. 30, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in Winter Park. This month’s topic will be innovation and how Jewish Academy of Orlando incorporates it into its programming. Each month the Jewish Academy of Orlando will feature a different topic and community speakers, offering an opportunity to mingle with alumni families, friends, and the greater Orlando Jewish community.
Wine and light appetizers will be provided. To join the guest list and to obtain the address for our first Mingle, please email Summer Simmons at ssimmons@jewishacademyorlando.org or call the Jewish Academy of Orlando at 407-647-0713.
“The community that is deeply engaged in supporting its local Jewish day school, is the community that survives and stands strong,” said Alan Rusonik. “We look forward to seeing and mingling with the local community.”
