On Nov. 9, starting at 7 p.m., Temple Shalom will host a presentation on Kristallnacht, more commonly known as “The Night Of Broken Glass,” considered by many as the beginning of the Holocaust. Speakers will include children of Holocaust survivors.
Kristallnacht was a coordinated Nazi pogrom in Germany, Austria and other countries. On Nov. 9 and 10, 1938, throughout Germany and newly acquired territories mobs freely attacked and beat Jews. Between 1000 and 2000 synagogues were destroyed while 30,000 Jews were arrested and sent-to concentration camps.
This event is free and open to the public. Temple Shalom is located at 13562 County Road 101, Oxford, Fla. (the Villages).
