Goldie Weinstein, age 89, of Clermont, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Springs of Lady Lake. She was born on Dec. 30, 1925, in London, England, to the late Simon and Katie Clara Taylor Hecht. She lived bravely through the Blitz and met the love of her life, Reuben (Ruby) Weinstein who was stationed in Europe. Following the end of World War II, they married and shared many wonderful years together until Ruby’s death in 1994. During their life together, they lived in Buffalo, N.Y., and Hallandale and Orlando, Fla.
For the past 21 years, Mrs. Weinstein has been singly devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was the devoted mother of the late Stephen (Susan) Weinstein, Marilyn Goldschein (Gregory) and Karen Cantor and dear grandmother of Alexander and Rachel Cantor, David and Brian Goldschein, Alyssa Sherman, and Jodi Harrelson and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. The family requests contributions in memory of Goldie Weinstein be made to Temple Shalom of the Villages, 13563 County Road 101, Oxford FL 34484 or Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville NY 14221.
