Angela J. Jacobson died on March 4, 2016, in Orlando, Fla., surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 20, 1940, in Swindon, England in Wiltshire, the county of her beloved downs. Angela attended Goldsmiths College at London University, specializing in foreign languages, history and English literature. While vising Paris, she met the love of her life, Sam, to whom she was married for 42 years.
Angela was active in the Orlando community for 40 years, having many jobs, including teaching and writing for the Orlando Sentinel. Angela and Sam helped found the Jewish Academy of Orlando, where she worked tirelessly, from making falafel to wrapping gifts to support the school. She was a founding member of the Cosmopolitan Club, a foreign-born women’s group, where she made ‘sisters,’ not just friends, who lasted a lifetime.
Angela is survived by her children, Amanda Jacobson (Michael) Nappi and Adam (Kelly) Jacobson; and grandchildren, Samantha and Olivia Nappi, and Chelsea and Alex Jacobson.
A funeral service was held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi Sholom Dubov officiating. In memory of Angela Jacobson, the family requests contributions to The Perlman Food Pantry at Jewish Family Services, 2100 Lee Rd., Winter Park, or the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20090-6929.
Arrangements were entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando.
