Genealogical resources and techniques to use this summer

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando program for June features Tom Hirsch who will be presenting "Genealogy Resources and Techniques to Try Out This Summer" on Tuesday, June 7, from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at The Roth Family Jewish Community Center, 851 N. Maitland Ave., Maitland.

This is the Society's last meeting before summer break, a perfect time to present some new techniques to enhance enthusiasts' enjoyment and success while researching family histories.

There are countless free resources to help on one's genealogical journey. Hirsch will demonstrate a number of these. He will provide a printed handout with details, which will be the "homework" assignment for the summer!

The presentation will include demonstrations of tools and tutorials in learning new skills to help one become a better genealogist.

Come September, when meetings resume, members can share their accomplishments with fellow genealogists.

Prior to the program, starting at 6:30 p.m., there will be time to network, meet fellow genealogists, or to receive free consulting assistance from a Jewish genealogy expert.

This event is open to public. The cost is $5 for nonmembers, which may be applied to membership dues.
