Obituary - ARTHUR CARL SIEGEL

Arthur C. Siegel, age 86, of Haines City, passed away on May 30, 2016, at his residence.

An only child, he was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 17, 1929, to the late David and Rose Siegel. Following his service in United States Navy and the Naval Reserve, Art attended Pratt Institute in New York and earned a Certification in Industrial Design. After graduation he began a long career as a salesman in the cosmetics industry, retiring to the Orlando area from Long Island in 1996.

On Sept. 2, 1951, in Brooklyn, he married the former Barbara Seidner, his wife of nearly 65 years who survives him. Even though Art retired here, he began a second career lasting 15 years at Walt Disney World.

Art and Barbara were members of Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation.

In addition to Barbara, Art is survived by his son Mark (Deana) Siegel of Clay, N.Y.; and daughters, Claudia (David) Tung of Atco, N.J. and Janet (Howard) VanBenThysen of Lindenhurst, N.J. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at Temple Israel Cemetery, Gotha, with Rabbi Hillel Skolnik and Cantor Doug Ramsay of Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel. 640 Lee Road, Orlando 32810.
