What Memorial Day is all about

Boy Scouts and adult leaders of Troop 641 participated in the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from local Troops also marched in the pre-ceremonial parade. During the event, the Scouts passed out red, white and blue flowers to Gold Star parents, widows and widowers of Veterans. Several hundred were on hand to listen to keynote speakers Sergeant Stephen Tovet, Major John M. Williams II and Chief Demings.

The event was concluded with the tolling of the Liberty Bell by the scouts and with the playing of Echo Taps by the Orlando Concert Band.

"We all remember what Memorial Day is about: The Brave Veterans who fought for our country and died while defending our Freedom. Troop 641 was proud to support this community event," stated Ken Goldberg, leader of Troop 641.
