Jewish Academy of Orlando announced its new board for the upcoming school year. “We would like to thank all of the outgoing members, who worked tirelessly to support our school,” said outgoing President Jordan Steinberg. Marni Stahlman, Rona Weiss, Allan Klaiman, Linda Zlatkiss and Paul Rosenthal all deserve recognition for their dedication.
At this year’s annual meeting and last board meeting of the year, Renee Libow and Maura Weiner received special recognition for their continued support, dedication and efforts throughout the years.
Alan Rusonik, head of school, said, “We are excited to announce our new board, including Amanda Jacobson and Melanie Brenner as co-presidents.” Both Jacobson and Brenner have served several terms on the Jewish Academy of Orlando board throughout the years and participated in various committees including the Head of School committee, Finance committee, Development committee, Marketing committee and Executive committee. Jacobson is a Hebrew Day School alumni, past Horim U Morim president and brings great passion to this position. Brenner is a day school graduate from Ramaz School in New York City, past gala co-chair and is committed to the success of the school. For the past few years both Jacobson and Brenner were monumental in the school’s annual gala’s success, as well as running the school’s parent-led social and fundraising events.
Other board members include: Robyn Eichenholz, vice president; Rob Kleiman, vice president; immediate past president, Jordan Steinberg; Suzy Temple, Treasurer; Nina Oppenheim and lifetime board member, Ed Zissman.
Rusonik added, “we also welcome the newest board members, Rob Gebaide, Ronni Mendelsohn, Joseph Schwartz, Lisa Sholk and Stacey Soll.”
