Adele Mickenberg, age 96, of Winter Park, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2016, at Life Care Center of Orlando. A native of New York, she was born on March 29, 1920, to the late Chester and Marguerite Dunn Ossusky.
Adele was educated in New York and worked as an audiologist in the health care industry. She and her late husband Jesse, who passed away in 1994, relocated to the Orlando area from Miami in 1989. They became active members of Congregation of Reform Judaism and Adele served as a president of the Temple Seniors group. She also volunteered at Winter Park Hospital for many years.
Adele is survived by her son, Ken (Arlene) Mickenberg of Winter Park; and her daughter, Carol Lyons of Brooklyn, New York. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service was held at Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery in Gotha with Rabbi Steven W. Engel and Cantor Jacqueline Rawiszer officiating.
