Ensuring security on campus

The Maitland Jewish Community Campus-home to the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando, The Roth Family Jewish Community Center, the Jewish Academy of Orlando and the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center-is ensuring the security of the campus by hiring a security director. Rhonda Forest, president of JFGO announced that Andrew Brennan has been selected for the position and will officially start Jan. 3, 2017, but will probably be around campus before then.

Brennan brings to the job more than 20 years' experience with the Orlando Police Department, most recently serving as the Technology and Forensics Unit Supervisor for the department's Criminal Investigations Division.   

Among his many other assignments, he managed the Orlando International Airport Police Emergency Operations Center for an extended period, commencing the morning of September 11, 2001. He also served as the Orlando Police Department Airport Division liaison to the El Al Airlines Security staff for their annual flight and passenger safety program.

Brennan holds a BS from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and an MBA in Public Administration from Troy University, Troy, Ala., in addition to multiple specialized law-enforcement certifications, including FEMA and crisis management course certifications.

Brennan and his family have been Maitland residents since 1994.
