Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
Camp Shalom, founded by the Sokol family in 1971, is the only coed Jewish overnight camp in Florida. It is located in the heart of the Ocala National Forest (1.5 hours North of Orlando) and is situated on 115 acres with a 55-acre spring-fed lake. Camp Shalom will be entering its 47th summer in 2017.
Camp Shalom is a sports camp with its own basketball, soccer and tennis facilities, among others. From waterskiing to a climbing wall with a four-story zip line, arts and crafts, music and more, Camp Shalom is a wonderful summer camp for children ages 7-17. All facilities are centrally air conditioned while the campus is pristine and manicured all around.
David Fried, executive director, will be at The Roth Family JCC in Orlando (851 N Maitland Ave, Maitland, FL 32751) on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 2-6:30 p.m.
Plan on attending this event if you are interested in learning more about all of the wonderful things at Camp Shalom. For more information, please contact David Fried at davidfried@campshalom.net or 786-344-3726.
