Linda K. Aronoff, age 78, of Winter Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Florida Hospital—Winter Park.
Linda was born in Camden, New Jersey, to Jeanette and Robert Katz on July 11, 1938. She went to high school at Merchantville High School and graduated in 1955. She attended Temple University in 1956. Linda went on to earn a degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in 1979, and a certificate in Managing Government in Florida at Florida State University in 1985. She worked for U.S. Congressman Bill Gunter, the Orange County Commission, the State of Florida Department of Banking and Finance and retired from the state in 1994. Linda then went on to open a small safety consultant business, Managing for Success, with a partner and retired again in 2004. She was a member of the Democratic Executive Committee, Hadassah, Jewish Career Women’s Network, Sisterhood of Congregation Ohev Shalom, and the Law Enforcement Agency of America. She enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her family, and was a huge advocate for women’s rights.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Jeanette and Robert Katz, and her husband Sheldon Aronoff. She is survived by her brother, Richard (Deborah) Katz; daughters, Lauren Buckner, and Sharon (Martin) White; four grandchildren, Jacqueline (Scott) King, Shaina (Randy) Williams, Jamie White and Zachary White; and three great-grandchildren, Angel Kolar, Lillian King, and newborn Grayson Williams.
Funeral services for Linda K. Aronoff were held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Pavilion at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery, with Rabbi Aaron D. Rubinger, Senior Rabbi, officiating. Burial followed in the cemetery.
