Obituary - BARRY R. SCHREIBER

Barry Schreiber, age 76, of Heathrow, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. He was born in Brooklyn on Jan. 11, 1941, one of two sons born to the late Saul and Miriam Abrams Schreiber. He earned a degree from Hofstra University following his enlistment in the U.S. Army Reserves. He would later earn a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida.

Barry worked as a consultant in corporate management for a number of different companies which afforded his family the opportunity to experience life in different parts of the U.S., settling in Heathrow in 1979 from Los Angeles.

On Nov. 24, 1968, in Floral Park, New York, after a whirlwind courtship, Barry married the former Roberta Hirschfield, his wife over 48 years who survives him.

The family has been affiliated with Temple Israel for many years after belonging to Congregation Ohev Shalom.

In addition to his wife, Roberta, Barry is survived by his children, Neil of Jacksonville and Jennifer of Lake Mary and his grandson, Jacob. He was predeceased by his brother, Jay.

A funeral service was held at the Yank Frank Pavilion at Temple Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Arnold Siegel of Jewish Family Services officiating. Interment followed in the cemetery.
