Selma M. Micohen, age 91, of Winter Park, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at her residence. Mrs. Micohen was born on March 11, 1926, in Portland, Maine, one of three children born to the late Abram and Ida Goberman Berenson. A high school graduate, she married Hyman Micohen, her husband of more than 70 years and who survives her, on Oct. 27, 1946, in Portland. The family relocated to the Orlando area in 1969 from Philadelphia and are members of Congregation Ohev Shalom.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Micohen is survived by her sons, Alan of Winter Park and David (Lynne) of Winter Springs; and two grandchildren David and Leah. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Berenson and sister, Reva Zeitman.
A graveside service was held at Congregation Ohev Shalom Cemetery, with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. In memory of Selma M. Cohen, the family requests contributions to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, 640 Lee Road, Orlando. 407-599-1180.
