Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
The women of the Orlando Jewish community have for years been very successful at raising money for the Jewish Federation of Greater Orlando through Choices, the women's philanthropy division. Each year the Choices event brings women together for an evening of fun, friendship and delicious food. Now the men of the community are stepping up to the plate with their own Men's Night Out to bring the community's men together to benefit local Jewish youth educational programs. And what a night it will be! Orlando's synagogue Men's Clubs and JFGO have planned a fabulous night out-complete with steak, cocktails and comedy-on Thursday evening, Nov. 2.
For the past three years, four of the Orlando Conservative synagogue's Men's Clubs have sponsored "Man of the Year" and "Youth of the Year" awards events. Building on this collaborative success, the core group wanted to take a bigger step and bring the community's affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish men together to network, forge friendships and have an enjoyable evening together.
Organized and presented by Congregation Ohev Shalom, Temple Israel, Congregation of Reform Judaism, Congregation Beth Am, Southwest Orlando Jewish Congregation in conjunction with JFGO, Mens Night Out is not limited to men who are members of the various synagogues. This is a "community driven" gathering to meet other Jewish men, and benefit local Jewish education. The evening will include a kosher prime rib dinner (and a vegetarian option), top-shelf liquor (open bar), cocktail hour, and entertainment by nationally recognized comedian Dan Naturman.
Naturman has been around the comic circuit, appearing on TV shows such as The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Last Comic Standing.
Men's Night Out will be held at Congregation Ohev Shalom, 613 Concourse Pkwy South, Maitland. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m .; dinner at 7 p.m. and comedy entertainment at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $100, sponsorship opportunities are available. Purchase tickets and sponsorship packages at http://www.orlandojewishfed.org/mno
