The Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida is pleased to announce that it is working with March of the Living, Southern Region USA to award annual scholarships to students from the greater Orlando area to be funded through the Tess and Abe O. Wise March of the Living Endowment Fund.
The International March of the Living, which next year will be held from April 28-May 12, 2019, is an educational program bringing teens from around the world to both Poland and Israel to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred. Held annually on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, the March of the Living itself is a 3-kilometer walk from Auschwitz to Birkenau as a tribute to all victims of the Holocaust.
The full cost of the trip is $5800 and does not include round-trip domestic airfare to NYC.
Students interested in joining the March of the Living and/or applying for this need-based scholarship should call the March of the Living Southern Region office at 561-852-6013. Additional information is available on its website https://www.molsouth.org/. The March of the Living Southern Region office will screen applicants and review all scholarship requests. Selected student(s) will be expected to participate in educational seminars designed to prepare them for the March.
