Central Florida's Independent Jewish Voice
Congregation Sinai helps the community celebrate all Jewish holidays with special events and services. Congregation Sinai has been serving the Jewish Community of Central Florida since 2003. Numerous services and annual events will be open and free to the entire community.
Special Chanukah services will be held on Sunday night, Dec. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a Chanukah candle lighting service with a Latke Party that evening.
"This event will be free and open to the local Jewish community of the Greater Clermont, Groveland and Central Florida areas. We will light all candles this night and serve Trader Joes' prepared latkes with applesauce and sour cream, salad and jelly doughnuts donated by Dunkin' Donuts, punch, water, ice tea, and wine. Our regular synagogue celebration will be on the following Friday when congregants can bring their own Chanukiahs to light," said Congregation Sinai President Peter Sobel
Joe and Lynn Goldovitz provide distinctively unique spiritual leadership with thoughtful prayers, sermons, music and creative entertainment. Congregation Sinai serves as a house of prayer, assembly and study in which the spectrum of Jewish expression is cultivated, protected and nurtured. With student education programs for children, adult education, bible study groups, bar/bat mitzvah study programs and group tours to Israel; they strive to educate adults and children in Judaism's rich heritage with contemporary significance, while sharing Jewish culture, rituals, traditions and values.
