Jewish Academy is now 99.9 percent germ free

In an effort to reduce student and teacher absences, Jewish Academy of Orlando completed installation of the Violet Defense patented germ-killing technology. The UV-operated products are designed to prevent the spread of illness-causing germs. The technology is designed to help combat up to 99.9 percent of bacteria and viruses, including E. Coli, Salmonella, Norovirus, and superbugs like MRSA. The technology will help protect the students, staff, and faculty of JAO from these illness-causing germs, including flu.

The school is now the first K-5 school in America to be fully outfitted with Violet Defense's system. Each of the school's classrooms, along with the clinic, library, public restrooms, and lunchroom, is automatically disinfected each night. The school also has access to mobile options to deploy in any spaces without an installed solution, or in the event of immediate disinfection needs, such as with a sick child.

"The safety and health of our students is always of primary concern to us," said Head of School Alan Rusonik. "Less absences leads to a healthy campus and more learning. We are grateful that the donation of the Violet Defense technology has likely contributed to these findings."
