Obituary - DANIEL "DANNY" GARRISON ALTMAN

Danny Altman, age 25, of Lake Mary, passed away, suddenly, on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his home. He is survived by his mother, father, and siblings—Margaret, Jim, and Evan Altman, of Altamonte Springs; and by his aunt and uncle, Susan (Suni) and Stanley Hausman, of Lady Lake.

Danny was a graduate of Florida State University and a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, as well as an avid member of Seminole Nation. He was a talented guitarist and musician, performing under the name D-Alt and others, writing, arranging and contributing to others’ works. He collaborated with many musicians in his short life, sharing his love of music and his great talent.

Danny played basketball from an early age, coaching as well. He was selected to represent the championship Team USA at the International Maccabi Games tournament, held in Sydney, Australia, an honor and experience his valued.

He was a water safety instructor, teaching toddlers and children how to swim. He was generous and patient, encouraging both the learners and the parents.

Danny was an avid snowboarder, and worked at a resort in Snowmass, Colorado, perfecting his skills. He was thrilled to host his Florida buddies on the slopes, lovingly and happily introducing them to the sport, sharing his joy. Danny worked in sales, where his natural charm brought him success. He worked with at-risk youth, and loved reaching out and connecting with the kids.

Danny touched so many lives and brought his light to them. He will be remembered for his overwhelming kindness, loyalty and friendship. He helped his many friends, wherever and whatever the need.

A truly special soul, we will all remember him forever in our broken hearts.

Funeral services were held at Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel with Rabbi Arnold Siegel officiating. Interment followed in Congregation of Reform Judaism Cemetery, Gotha.
