Shirley Michael, age 85, of Maitland, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at Weinstein Hospice in Atlanta, with her loving family by her side. Shirley was born on Jan. 2, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a beacon of light, always smiling, dancing, and helping others. Her spirit will live on through her family and legion of friends she cherished, making a lasting impact by her shining example. She was an active volunteer at Congregation Ohev Shalom who was appreciated and loved by everyone young and old. As Miss Lollipop, she was a clown who brought cheer to many, including sick children at Give Kids the World. She was a loving mother to her three children, Karen, Ken and Beth, a loving wife to her husband Alvin who passed away in 2013, and grandmother to seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A funeral service was held in the Pavilion at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi David Kay and Cantor Allan Robuck officiating.
