Friday, Dec. 13th: Come and join the family-friendly members of Congregation Beth Sholom for a spiritual service beginning the Shabbat. The 7 p.m. service is held at Congregation Beth Sholom in Leesburg located at 315 North 13th Street. Be inspired as Rabbi / Cantor Karen Allen leads our Shabbat evening service. Experience how her beautiful voice and informative commentary add special meaning to our prayers. Stay afterward and socialize at the Kiddush in our social hall. Thursday, Dec. 19th: Join Rabbi Karen Allen for the 2:30 p.m. monthly roundtable discussion held at the Sumter County Administration and Library Building (with the golden dome), in the main conference room, located at 7375 Powell Road in Wildwood, near Pinellas Plaza and 466A. Please note the time change for this month’s meeting.
These lively discussions are intended to explore the current Torah portion and how it affects our daily lives. However, these discussions usually take an unexpected turn and can result in a variety of topics. Come join us for a fun time with Rabbi Allen and an interactive group of attendees. Sunday, Dec. 22nd: Celebrate Chanukah with the “Synagogue That Feels Like Family,” 2:30 p.m. There will be traditional foods of latkes (sweet potato and regular) jelly donuts and other treats, the Menorah lighting, and a Sing-along.
A donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6—13 is requested. Bring your Menorah and share a story about it. The synagogue is located at 315 North 13th St. in Leesburg, with the entrance on Center Street.

Saturday, Dec. 28th: Please join us for a service at 10 a.m. led by Rabbi Karen Allen. The Service will be followed by a Kiddush, allowing attendees to mingle with both old and new friends. This also is the 6th day of Chanukah, celebrating the time when the Maccabees removed the Romans from the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, and the miracle of the one lighted flask of oil lasting 8 days, allowing the Jews to cleanse and make the Temple holy again. Chanukah begins on Sunday December 22nd and ends on Sunday Dec. 29th. The synagogue is located at 315 North 13th St. in Leesburg, with the entrance on Center Street.
