Vera Amar, age 64, of Valdosta, Ga., and formerly of Orlando, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. She was born in Satu Mare, Romania, to the late Same and goldie Pearl Lax. Vera was an educator for many years, receiving her master’s in psychology from Monmouth University in New Jersey. She was the wife of Mark Amar, who survives her. In 1994, they relocated to Orlando from New Jersey and joined Congregation Ohev Shalom. They recently moved to Valdosta to be closer to family.
In addition to her husband, Vera is survived by her sons, Adam (Karli) of Lake Park, Ga., and David (Sarah) of Lake Placid, Fla .; and three grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19, a private family interment was held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery, Orlando, with Rabbi David Kay officiating.
