Hundreds of tickets have already been sold in an online raffle benefiting UCF Chabad's vital work enhancing Jewish life at UCF and Valencia.
All of the proceeds gleaned from the $36 tickets will go directly to fund programming; including a grand prize of $10,000, a second prize of two tickets to Israel and various other prizes.
The last few months as we are all dealing with the effects of the COVID-19, UCF Chabad has once again seen how vital their work is with the student community. Now more than ever, students are looking for meaning, connection, inspiration, and community. Every week Chabad prepares 50 "Shabbat to GO" packages, hosts classes and events over Zoom and is always there for students to lend a helping hand.
"'Shabbat to GO' gave me a way to connect in a time where connection was restricted by a pandemic ... Chabad gave me the opportunity to start new traditions in my college apartment, and I can't wait to continue these traditions. As amazing 'Shabbat to GO' is, I can't wait to celebrate Shabbat back at Chabad," shared Sammy Maurer, Spring 2020.
While so much is uncertain, this raffle campaign helps ensure that Chabad can be there to help students in a creative, relevant, and meaningful ways.
"I was happy to support Chabad! Plus this is such an awesome raffle, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Thank you Rabbi and Rivkie for everything," said Rebeka Davis, UCF grad student
You can purchase a ticket or tickets online at www.jewishucf.com/raffle, or by calling Chabad at 407-949-8838, ext. 1. Participants need not be present at the drawing, which will take place on July 22.
"If you win, you win," Rivkie Lipskier, co-director of UCF Chabad shared with the entire UCF community. "And if you don't win, you still win because all proceeds go directly to enhancing Jewish student life for hundreds of students at UCF."
